Time-based projection installation
TIMELINE
September – October 2025
TOOLS
Photoshop, After Effects
Big Scream is a time-based experiential installation that explores the act of screaming as a release of unwanted emotion. What begins as an isolated auditory experience for each viewer unfolds into collective catharsis, where the audience themselves become participants. The three minue installation features a large-scale projection that spans two walls and combines video, photography, and layered sound to create an immersive environment.
Scream Visualization Abstracted sound waves border the frame around each participant, visualizing the intensity of each scream.
Photo Manipulation
The use of motion blur, combined with color, communicates the release of stress, anxiety, and fear by visually representing the transition from internal tension to external expression.
Audience Participation
At the conclusion of the experience, the audience is invited to release their unwanted feelings in the form of their own scream. This blurs the line between audience and participant, emphasizing that we are not alone in experiencing these emotions.
